About The Position

The Slab Foreman – Plumbing plays a key leadership role in overseeing underground plumbing installation. This position ensures proper installation, repair, and maintenance of all piping systems used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. The Slab Foreman prepares job sites for efficiency, supports plumbing crews, and upholds quality and safety standards that reflect Stancil’s commitment to excellence. Success in this role comes from a blend of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced construction environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, or foreign equivalent).
  • Must be able to successfully complete a physical examination and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, fitting sizes, and pipe types.
  • Motivated self-starter who works effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license for 3+ years and insurable on company policy.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of worksite safety procedures and willingness to embrace change in a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain underground plumbing systems for new residential new construction.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to identify specifications, system layout, and installation requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work tickets to determine measurements and ensure plumbing is installed accurately.
  • Determine locations for water supply networks, waste drainage systems, and related service lines.
  • Document all installations, service work, and hit line reports.
  • Coordinate daily activities and progress updates with the Territory Field Manager.
  • Install systems that transport water, waste, gases, or liquids in compliance with building codes.
  • Select appropriate materials for installation, including pipe type, size, and fittings.
  • Install supports, hangers, and equipment fixtures as required.
  • Assemble, install, and test valves, fittings, and pipe systems for leaks or performance issues.
  • Observe pressure gauges, test pipe integrity, and repair leaks as necessary.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs are properly aligned, supported, graded, and meet company standards.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, including saws, threaders, and cutting equipment.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble new pipe, placing assembled pipe in hangers or other supports.
  • Excavate and grade ditches; lay and join pipe for water and sewer services.
  • Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe components.
  • Maintain site organization, material inventory, and equipment readiness.
  • Collaborate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Direct and guide plumbing team members during installation and site preparation.
  • Assist in training or mentoring less experienced crew members.
  • Support the Territory Field Manager in maintaining schedule adherence and worksite productivity.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
