About The Position

The Westin Tempe is looking for a FT - SkySill Lounge Manager to join our amazing  Team! A SkySill Lounge Manager takes part in servicing our guests around our beautiful Hotel and you'll be part of a great team of helpful people who are passionate about delivering exceptional service. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. The SkySill Lounge Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of bar outlets, ensuring exceptional guest service and operational excellence in accordance with Marriott brand standards and Cresent Hotels and Resorts policies.  This role leads and supports the lounge team, maintains beverage and food quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service and merchandising to maximize hotel profitability.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Considerable skill in complex mathematical calculations without error.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and hospitality suites and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Ability to observe and distinguish product quality by smell, taste, and appearance.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage industry, current market trends, federal, state and local laws pertaining to the hospitality industry, i.e. OSHA, Arizona Liquor Commission, Department of Health and Sanitation regulations, etc.
  • Ability to effectively deal with both internal and external quests.
  • Ability to move throughout the lounge areas and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in bar, lounge or restaurant management, preferably within a hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of beverage service, cocktails, wine and bottle sales operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventories of equipment, amenities, chemicals, and other supplies to ensure items are in stock and reorders in a timely manner.
  • Coaches, counsel, and disciplines staff, when appropriate, to ensure standards are met and assigns staff to additional training when needed.
  • Consults with Engineering, regarding repair or general maintenance of public areas.
  • Performs line staff job functions under high volume and emergency situations.
