About The Position

Do you thrive in the mountains and have a passion for safety and helping others? As a Ski Patroller at Brian Head Resort, you’ll respond to on-mountain emergencies, provide first aid, mitigate trail hazards, and support the daily operations that promote safe skiing and riding that is enjoyable for everyone. What You’ll Do: Respond to on-mountain incidents and provide emergency care, including first aid and transport coordination. Open and close trails, monitor signage, and assess snow and weather conditions throughout the day. Assist with guest inquiries and provide mountain safety information. Handle rescue equipment, sleds, and gear across all terrain and conditions. Participate in trainings, refreshers, and on-mountain rescue drills. Use two-way radios professionally to coordinate with dispatch and other departments Communicate clearly and compassionately with injured guests, assisting in assessments and transports. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years of age.
  • Must have a high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Is an advanced or higher-level skier or snowboarder.
  • Holds current emergency medical certification (WFR, EMT, OEC, or equivalent).
  • Can work in extreme weather conditions (snow, wind, rain) for extended periods.
  • Can lift and ski/snowboard with 50+ lbs, including gear and patients when needed.
  • Remains calm and focused in high-stress or emergency situations
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
