About The Position

Facilities and Business Operations is seeking a dedicated Parking Patroller to provide daily operational support under the supervision of the parking enforcement supervisor. This role involves patrolling the university’s parking lots and garages to ensure compliance with UCF parking regulations. The Parking Patroller will maintain the functionality of LPR (License Plate Recognition) software, report issues to the supervisor, and uphold fair parking enforcement in accordance with Florida statutes and local ordinances. Additionally, the Parking Patroller will assist with university events and issue parking citations for violations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 0+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Position requires a valid Class E driver's license.
  • The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in parking enforcement or related field.
  • Knowledge of parking regulations and enforcement procedures.
  • Familiarity with License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology and software operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and within differing climates patrolling the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce parking regulations to ensure compliance with UCF policies and Florida state statutes, including installing immobilization devices on vehicles with multiple unpaid citations.
  • Provide information, directions, and assistance to constituents; help stranded motorists by unlocking vehicles, providing fuel, or calling for tow services as needed.
  • Ensure the operational readiness of LPR software and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Offer feedback on enforcement situations and follow up on written requests; report suspicious activity to the university police department.
  • Assist in training new parking patrollers and conduct new employee orientation as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain patrol vehicle assignments and citation issuance devices.
  • Initiate towing of illegally parked vehicles, particularly in reserved spaces or during special events, and complete towing reports.
  • Archive documentation related to towing incidents and assist with space reservations for special guests or events.
