About The Position
Under the general supervision of the school principal, the teacher is to develop students’ skills and knowledge in science education. Creates an equitable classroom showing empathy for and understanding of all students Teaches district curriculum and creates innovative and authentic learning experiences aligned to this curriculum Supports the growth of students in a way that values student voice, interest, and choice Collaborates with staff members to support inclusive student learning Follows all guidelines and policies as outlined by the Board of Education Respect for and desire to serve all students Strong department and team collaboration Major interest in science and science-related learning Proven knowledge of creative learning environments, responsive spaces, experiential instruction, STEM/STEAM, preferred Strong problem-solving skills Knowledge and/or experience working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Knowledge and/or experience in culturally proficient teaching If placed in 6th grade science, assist with the coordination and planning of 6th grade camp Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Missouri Teacher Certification - Middle School Science 5-9 required
- Respect for and desire to serve all students
- Strong department and team collaboration
- Major interest in science and science-related learning
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge and/or experience working in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
- Knowledge and/or experience in culturally proficient teaching
