About The Position

The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and enforcing job site safety while acting as a resource for internal and external customers to provide a safe working environment and protect the company from liability.

Requirements

  • Some classroom or field experience in a similar role preferred, but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables and excellent grasp of process management.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute percentages, interest; basic statistics, ability to read and use graphs/charts and general algebra.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communication (spoke and written) in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • OSHA 30, OSHA 510, OSHA 500, or BCSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, conducts, and tracks employee training requirements and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, job site safety plans, and company policies.
  • Partners with the Safety Manager and Director to communicate findings, needs, trends, and opportunities on the job site and conducts training when needed.
  • Investigates job related incidents and drug testing requirements to maintain compliance with the BWC and job site specific programs to ensure the employees receive proper treatment.
  • Collaborates with superintendents, foreman, and General Contractors to share best safety practices, provide guidance, inspect, or recommend equipment, provide alerts, and foster safe working practices to minimize risk.
  • Acts as the company safety contact to the General Contractor and serves as first point of contact for addressing safety-related project questions and responds proactively.
  • Performs safety audits and inspections and partners with the safety manager and safety director to identify trends, problem solve, etc.
  • Emphasizes and reflects “safety first” attitude in all dealings.
  • Completes or reviews injury reports, assists as needed with investigations into accidents, seeks understanding of root causes for accidents, evaluates hazards, communicates findings, and follow up with injured workers.
