The Hospitalist Site Medical Director is the accountable clinical leader of the assigned hospitalist program with day to day responsibility including: clinical quality, medical staff development, physician engagement, and local hospitalist program performance. The Site Medical Director represents department in pertinent internal and external meetings. This position works closely with site hospitalists and clinicians, system hospitalist administrators, System Hospitalist VP, and other site hospitalist leads and program managers to assure that systems and processes are implemented at the site. Jointly with other providers and through operating committees, ensures that community, medical group, hospital medicine domain, and hospital standards/guidelines of medical practice are maintained. Collaborates with site, domain, and service line leadership to support quality initiatives, medical unit strategy, and operational plans at the site.
