JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Hospitalist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Gloversville, NY • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: April 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7-on/7-off schedule; Day shifts COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing coverage starting April 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 33 patients per day • Admissions: Yes; approximately 3–4 admits during night coverage • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: General Hospitalist; ICU management with ventilator support as needed FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 75 Hospital Beds • Trauma Level: Not Specified • EMR System: Meditech Expanse • Office Equipment Available: Standard hospital resources • Specialty Backup Available: Pulmonary support; telehealth support at night • Support Staff Available: 4 Physicians and 2 APPs; NP/PA night coverage with telehealth backup • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: No (limited emergency cases only) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance REQUIRED PROCEDURES • ICU Management • Ventilator Management • Code Response and Rapid Response Team (RRT) JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NY Medical License required • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years (ABIM/ABFM) • DEA: Active DEA with NY address required • Certifications: ACLS (AHA), ATLS, PALS, Infection Control Certificate • Experience: Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; ICU experience required • Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice file; case logs (24 months); minimum 50 CME credits; TB test, flu vaccination, driver’s license copy DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient hospitalist care during day shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule • Manage ICU patients including ventilator support as needed • Respond to codes and rapid response events • Collaborate with APPs and telehealth providers for patient care coverage • Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR
Requirements
- Active NY Medical License required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years (ABIM/ABFM)
- Active DEA with NY address required
- ACLS (AHA), ATLS, PALS, Infection Control Certificate
- Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- ICU experience required
- Clean malpractice file
- Case logs (24 months)
- Minimum 50 CME credits
- TB test, flu vaccination, driver’s license copy
