About The Position

The Site Director is responsible for leading all aspects of SMASH programming at the site level, including staff management, program implementation, scholar engagement, and community building. Reporting to the National Program Director, the Site Director ensures program fidelity, maintains organizational culture, and drives exceptional outcomes for approximately 65 scholars through strategic leadership and operational excellence. You must be available for all training and program dates.

Requirements

  • Commitment to SMASH’s mission; and willingness to embrace goals/values are essential
  • Demonstrated programs or operational effectiveness working with students (preferably at the high school level) from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds
  • Previous experience with adopting and adapting to new technologies through self-guidance and video tutorials
  • Results-driven; work around potential obstacles to ensure all goals are met and deliverables are completed by the end of the program
  • A minimum of one (1) year of administrative or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Calendar, Doc, Sheet, Email, Forms) and Zoom
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills are required
  • Strong attention to detail, prompt responsiveness, and ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to attend events on evenings and/or weekends

Responsibilities

  • Model, establish, and maintain SMASH cultural norms and expectations at the site level in alignment with national standards
  • Lead the recruitment and hiring process for seasonal staff for the site, in collaboration with the National Program Director
  • Onboard seasonal staff for the site
  • Performance manage seasonal staff in alignment with national organizational goals, with support and guidance from the National Program Director
  • Ensure proper data collection for scholars and seasonal staff (i.e. deliverables, transcripts, surveys, etc.) and report findings to the National Program Director
  • Collaborate with the National Program Director to select and onboard a cohort of ~65 scholars
  • Lead day-to-day implementation of national programming at the site level, ensuring fidelity, cross-functional alignment, and proper record keeping for quality assessment
  • Design and manage site-specific wraparound programming (commuter programming, STEM career exploration activities, electives, academic year events) in alignment with national program goals
  • Manage daily communications with parents and scholars; escalate critical issues to the National Program Director
  • Track and report on programmatic metrics to the National Program Director; ensure site-level metrics are met
  • Maintain regular communication with the National Program Director through scheduled check-ins and progress updates
  • Collaborate with the National Program Director on strategic decisions, program adjustments, and problem-solving
  • Provide input and feedback to inform national program strategy and best practices
  • Participate in cross-site collaboration and knowledge-sharing as directed by the National Program Director
