About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Site Director plans activities, oversees counselors’ activities and oversees all functions of the Before/After School site. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

Possess leadership/supervisory abilities.
Possess public relation skills.
Ability to organize, plan and implement various recreational and educational activities.
High School graduate.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Two years of formal work experience working with children.
CPR/AED Certification or the willingness to become certified.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
Manage, plan, direct, implement, and evaluate camp programs and activities.
Plan, direct and participate in camp activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, and nature activities.
Guide, direct, evaluate and motivate camp staff.
Guide, direct and motivate campers.
Provide a safe environment for all staff and campers.
Be cordial and courteous to the public.
Inform Recreation Supervisor of all camp happenings.
Maintain record keeping including attendance, accident, emergency forms, and weekly/monthly calendars.
Conduct campsite staff meetings.
Attend all staff meetings (site director, campsite, and camp-wide).
Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manuals and trainings.
Other related job duties as assigned.
