About The Position

We are seeking a technically curious and motivated engineer looking to grow in the field of process simulation. The Simulation Engineer will support the development and deployment of simulation environments using technologies such as DeltaV Mimic™. This position involves hands-on configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of control system simulations to improve project delivery and operator readiness. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of control systems and a willingness to learn advanced simulation tools, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to innovative solutions that enhance manufacturing performance.

  • This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the office and two days working from home.
  • B.S. in CHE, EE, ME, Comp. Eng, Comp. Sci., other related disciplines or equivalent experience
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience with DeltaV Mimic or similar platforms
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience with DeltaV or other Process Control System
  • MS Office Experience
  • MS Excel Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Control System Emulators
  • Understanding of process dynamics
  • Prior experience working in a relevant manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and deploy simulation environments using Emerson’s DeltaV Mimic™ or similar platforms to support control system development, testing, and operator training.
  • Develop dynamic simulation models that accurately replicate plant behavior for both batch and continuous processes, enabling risk-free validation of control strategies and operational documentation.
  • Integrate simulation platforms with control system emulators to facilitate off-line testing of control logic, graphics, and alarm strategies prior to commissioning.
  • Provide simulation-based training for operators using actual plant configurations and control graphics to enhance safety, productivity, and response to abnormal situations.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize simulation configurations, and maintain simulation models that mirror live plant operations for continuous improvement and predictive analysis.
  • Support Model Acceptance Tests (“MAT”s) / Software Acceptance Tests (“SAT”s)
  • Support start-up and commissioning activities at customer sites
  • Travel in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia – approximately 25%
  • Work independently or as part of a team at customer sites to deliver high-impact simulation solutions that improve commissioning timelines and operational certainty.
