About The Position

Responsible for signal integrity and power integrity designs for packages (substrates, interposers, redistribution layers, etc.). This includes simulations of designs, identifying areas for improvements, designs of the improvements, and design verification. Responsibilities include: Responsible for signal and power integrity portion of the product design, including coming up with solutions to identified issues Works on advanced complex technical projects requiring state of the art technical knowledge. Provides simulation and design verification reports. Participates in architecture design, logic design, and performs full system simulations. Contributes to the development of multi-dimensional designs involving the layout of complex packaging of integrated circuits. Evaluates all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. Analyzes equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results. May also review vendor capability to support development. May represent the company at industry forum and conferences Sets direction for future designs within area of responsibility

Requirements

  • Expert at setting up and simulating power integrity and high speed signal integrity using commercially available tools, such as HFSS, Ansys tools (e.g. SI wave, Redhawk), and Cadence simulation tools.
  • Deep understanding of high speed signal integrity (100 GHz and up)
  • Measurements: skilled with use of VNAs, de-embedding test fixtures and high-speed probing.
  • Recognized technical contributor.
  • Uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Works independently without close supervision
  • Networked within the industry and acknowledged expert by peers
  • Develops and applies innovative technologies and concepts
  • Technical consulting resource to business level managers
  • Bachelors degree with 12+ years of related experience, or Masters degree with 10+ years of related experience, or PhD with 7+ years of related experience
