Shop Supervisor, Florence AL Do you excel when situations change and your team needs direction? We are looking for a Shop Supervisor to join our Florence, AL location, servicing and manufacturing products specific to Wood handling and Fiber Workshop parts and technologies. In this role, you will oversee a team of skilled technical shop employees who will rely on your people-centered leadership. You will be responsible for the smooth daily operations where quick reactions and a solution-oriented mindset are part of everyday life. In this role, you will also handle personnel matters and participate in customer projects, change management, and quality improvement initiatives. Your Role At the heart of the role is supporting and inspiring your team to achieve targets—even when plans change. The focus of the role is continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and production volumes. You will help the team to work together and empower collaborative ways to improve efficiency, even when there are unplanned disruptions to help determine how to reach the company’s goals and on time deliveries. What we expect from you To succeed as a supervisor, you should above all have excellent communication skills and a desire to grow as a leader. You are a problem-solver who acts quickly and develops the team’s work systematically in the spirit of Lean. You work flexibly with different types of people and naturally gravitate toward collaboration. You get energized by your work and inspire others to solve problems, develop processes, and work together. You have good organizational skills, with the ability to break down complex situations into actionable steps. We value previous experience in production and a job shop environment utilizing production control systems, as well as knowledge of Lean and 5S. The ideal candidate will also have experience using various system applications from time and labor, scheduling, and overall ERP experience. Prior leadership experience is required including relevant technical education and/or experience.
