About The Position

CR&R is seeking a Shop Manager to lead all aspects of maintenance operations for our refuse and heavy-duty truck fleet. This role provides full operational oversight of the shop, including personnel leadership, maintenance execution, reporting, purchasing, inventory control, and coordination with operations to ensure fleet readiness and minimal downtime.

Requirements

5+ years of heavy-duty truck maintenance experience
2+ years of shop management or supervisory leadership experience
Strong knowledge of diesel, CNG, hydraulic, brake, and electrical systems
Experience with maintenance reporting, work order systems, and inventory control
Ability to manage vendors, purchasing, and maintenance budgets
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

Refuse industry experience strongly preferred
Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise shop personnel, including technicians and supervisors
Plan, prioritize, and oversee all repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance
Ensure accurate work order completion, maintenance records, and compliance documentation
Manage parts purchasing, vendor relationships, and cost control
Oversee inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and parts organization
Monitor shop performance, downtime trends, and maintenance metrics
Coordinate closely with operations to ensure equipment availability and reliability
Enforce safety standards, regulatory compliance, and company procedures
Develop staff through coaching, training, and performance management
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment
