About The Position

Shop Managers assist in F&B’s success in both the office and the field. Shop Managers will be responsible for supervising and scheduling all yard activities, ordering materials, issuing purchase order numbers, inventory, reconciling invoices, and ensuring quality and safety requirements are being met. The descriptions below are representative of, but are not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years in concrete and heavy civil construction. With a special focus on material ordering and invoicing.
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely in a positive manner with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit multiple quotations for material inventory & purchase based on approval from Regional Director; process PO’s through Procore and approve invoices in Foundation
  • Effectively communicate daily activities to supporting staff and uphold the highest level of accountability.
  • Record daily timesheets based upon hours worked for self and supporting staff
  • Work collaboratively with Project Management and Field Operations regarding yard support functions required for current, and upcoming project needs and schedules.
  • Assess the skill set of all yard team members and provide training and coaching as needed, c omplete performance reviews for yard team members in accordance with HR procedures.
  • Effectively coordinate yard support activities including but not limited to inventory management, support staff, equipment maintenance, small tool management, and warehousing.
  • Instruct yard team members on the processes, policies, and procedures that are essential to the success of the department.
  • Working closely with office & field supervision on upcoming project needs and schedules.
  • Participating in Level 10 meetings with local office staff.
  • Solving problems, as they arise, by using available knowledge and resources.
  • Perform accurate yard/shop Inventory Control: Job cost outbound inventory on a daily basis utilizing inventory software program. Record inbound inventory same day materials are received at shop/yard utilizing inventory software program. Complete monthly inventory audit by 5th of month following (February inventory audit done by March 5th) utilizing inventory software program.
  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team.
  • Ensure Company tools and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Record owned and sublet equipment repairs into Tenna for total cost of ownership and forecasting.
  • Communicating and prioritizing the scheduling of incoming maintenance and repairs with the Shop team and Equipment Director.
  • Communicate and discuss the condition of the fleet with the Equipment Director.
  • Assist and support Fleet Telematics Specialist as needed with installation and maintenance of Tenna equipment.
  • Manage small tool distribution; Accountably and roll out of Tenna QR Tags on small tools.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.
