About The Position

The Shop Lead - Glass Fabricator oversees day‑to‑day shop operations while remaining hands‑on in the fabrication of commercial storefront and curtain wall systems. This role is responsible for leading the fabrication team, operating machinery, coordinating workflow, and ensuring quality, safety, and production goals are met.

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with state laws and company driver policies
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Understanding of OSHA safety requirements and adherence to all work safety protocols
  • Strong background in glass and glazing fabrication or architectural aluminum systems
  • Experience with storefront, curtain wall, and commercial door hardware systems
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate shop crews
  • RhinoFAB or similar fabrication equipment experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability
  • Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands‑on fabrication work
  • Highschool Education or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in glass & glazing
  • 5+ years of experience in glass fabrication
  • Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
  • Primarily Indoor work environment
  • Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, crouching
  • Hands on operation of machinery
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to meet production demands.
  • Ability to assist with onsite installation or any other needs of the team if required

Nice To Haves

  • RhinoFAB or similar fabrication equipment experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support shop personnel in the fabrication of storefront and curtain wall systems
  • Operate a Rhino Fab and other fabrication equipment as needed
  • Fabricate aluminum and glass components per shop drawings and project schedules
  • Install and prep commercial door hardware, including closers, panic devices, hinges, and related components
  • Assign work, prioritize tasks, and coordinate production flow to meet deadlines
  • Perform quality control checks and ensure fabrication meets project standards
  • Maintain organized material staging, tools, and work areas
  • Enforce shop safety procedures and promote a clean, efficient work environment
  • Communicate with project managers, foremen, and leadership regarding shop needs and progress
