We are looking for a highly motivated Shipping Supervisor to join our team! As a Shipping Supervisor, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the shipping department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely dispatch of products to customers. This role is vital for maintaining a smooth supply chain and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is an onsite position based in our Fremont, CA office.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience in all functions of material handling with 3+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with inventory management and ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and shipping software platforms
  • Knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Forklift Certification required
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage warehouse personnel including overseeing the workflow, scheduling shifts, training, and providing feedback to warehouse staff to ensure high levels of productivity and adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, including verifying documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels
  • Prepare documentation for shipping packages and containers for domestic or international destinations; ensuring address labels, shipping account details, packing lists, international customs documents are complete and accurate for the type of shipment
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders by negotiating rates, scheduling shipments, resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise during shipping and receiving activities
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for damage and any unsafe condition before unloading material from truck
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and organization of stock
  • Manage the process of cold chain management, including but not limited to cold chain packaging, storage, shipping and logistics, and maintain the required temperature for temperature-sensitive products throughout the entire supply chain, from production to delivery
  • Receive and transact all material documentation ensuring accuracy, confirming, counts, weights, measures and purchase order number, matching delivery to the purchase order requirements
  • Perform material picking operations to create material kits per work order system and transact material issues in company computer ERP system
  • Prepare daily management reports, monitor shipping metrics, and identify areas for improvement in warehouse operations
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and shipping regulations, including U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for legal load limits
  • Liaise with internal functions such as receiving, internal quality assurance (IQA), purchasing, material planning, manufacturing, and engineering
  • Other job duties as assigned
