About The Position

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for the accurate and compliant preparation of all outgoing shipments, including finished assemblies and components sent to outside processing vendors (e.g., anodize, electropolish). This position ensures product protection, shipment precision, and warehouse organization while supporting production flow and quality objectives.

  • Forklift certification preferred; if not certified, must be willing and physically capable of becoming certified.
  • Ability to operate basic computer software for shipment labeling and documentation.
  • 0-3 Years (L1), 4-6 Years (L2), 7+ Years (L3) of experience in a related job role
  • High School Diploma/GED and technical/associate degree.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including an internship in a relevant trade.

Responsibilities

  • Package finished assemblies for customer shipment in accordance with internal standards and shipment requirements.
  • Package components for outside processing (anodize, electropolish, coating, etc.), ensuring protection, proper documentation, and labeling.
  • Perform accurate product labeling with zero tolerance for labeling errors.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of shipping and packaging areas in alignment with 5S/6S standards.
  • Coordinate daily shipment priorities with the Planning Operations Manager and Shipping Lead.
  • Assist with receiving activities as needed.
  • Support general warehouse operations and material movement.
  • Ensure packaging materials are stocked and properly stored.
  • Maintain shipment documentation accuracy and traceability.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and basic quality handling standards as required.
  • Support internal processes, including Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Support On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Quality metric targets; seek opportunities to increase productivity and eliminate waste.
  • Execute departmental work plans in conformance with company policies, procedures, regulations, best practices, management objectives, priorities, and financial impact on the business.
  • Maintain company records per applicable regulations and properly execute various forms, reports, and disclosures, as appropriate.
  • Exemplify good work practices, behaviors, and leadership traits; operate with integrity; treat others respectfully; demonstrate integrity, reliability, teamwork, initiative, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Support interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication, both verbal and written.

  • Adhere to all applicable environmental, safety, health, and operations procedures and directives. This includes properly using personal protective equipment following manufacturer specifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company guidelines. Ensure job site safety, promote safe work practices, and rectify job hazards, including maintaining clean work areas.
  • Read, understand, and interpret the lockout/tag-out indicators in the work area.
  • Know, understand, and adhere to Company organizational policies and procedures; align with and represent the Company’s mission, vision, core values, and cultural tenets.
  • Regularly report to work on time, maintain acceptable attendance requirements, and work overtime as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
