About The Position

As we prepare to open our brand-new America’s Thrift Stores location, the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will play a pivotal role in bringing this store to life. This is an exciting opportunity to help launch a new operation from the ground up—building processes, shaping team culture, and establishing the standards that will guide our success for years to come. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the shipping and receiving team, ensuring the efficient movement of goods in and out of the store. This includes monitoring inventory, managing deliveries, and upholding company standards for accuracy, organization, and productivity. This hands-on leader will support auditing, quality control, and training to optimize performance. By modeling teamwork, safety, and accountability, the supervisor will help create a strong operational foundation for our newest store.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a supervisor, team lead, or key holder in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic mathematical and computer proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate, coach, and develop team performance.
  • Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating material-handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the daily work of shipping and receiving team members.
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely, accurate handling.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory tracking systems, including deliveries, stock levels, and discrepancies.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly documented, labeled, and compliant with company procedures.
  • Enforce safety protocols related to material handling, equipment use, and facility guidelines.
  • Review daily stock levels, addressing shortages, overages, and any operational needs.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members during store launch and beyond.
  • Create and maintain work schedules aligned with business and staffing needs.
  • Provide consistent coaching and feedback to improve performance, productivity, and teamwork.
  • Maintain clean, organized receiving, storage, and logistics areas.
  • Support loss-prevention initiatives by following and enforcing security procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline shipping and receiving processes.
  • Assist donors in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all safety requirements.
  • Support store leadership with sales and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Manager or General Manager.
