The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of all warehouse activities. This critical role encompasses end-to-end logistics, inventory management, staff supervision, and process optimization to ensure the timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while meeting company targets for efficiency and cost control. Key Responsibilities The Warehouse Manager provides leadership and oversight for all daily functions within the facility, including: Logistics and Operations: Oversee all inbound (receiving, staging) and outbound (picking, packing, shipping) logistics processes. Coordinate with transportation carriers and internal sales teams to ensure on-time delivery performance. Inventory Management: Implement and maintain robust inventory control procedures, including regular cycle counting and physical inventories, to ensure accuracy (WMS proficiency is required). Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly. Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise warehouse personnel, including supervisors, drivers, and material handlers. Manage scheduling, performance reviews, and labor allocation to meet operational demand. Safety and Compliance: Establish and enforce a rigorous safety culture. Ensure the warehouse operates in full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, DOT), including the safe operation and maintenance of all material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts). Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement strategies (e.g., Lean principles) to optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and equipment utilization to reduce costs and improve throughput. Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse facility, storage systems, and equipment, ensuring a clean, organized, and secure working environment.
