About The Position

Euclid Heat Treating, a family owned and operated commercial heat treater is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Manager to join our team. The Shipping & Receiving Manager oversees all inbound and outbound customer material and the order entry process for the facility. This role ensures accurate order review, material identification, traceability, and on-time shipment of customer-owned parts. In a small company environment, the position is hands-on and plays a key role in maintaining quality system compliance, workflow efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in managing an order entry, shipping/receiving, or material control team in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail with customer requirements and documentation
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills (ERP/MRP systems, shipping software, spreadsheets, email); experience with Blue Streak ideal

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in heat treating, aerospace, or metal processing
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality system
  • CDL or experience driving large vehicles to act as back-up driver

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform order entry for customer heat treat orders
  • Review customer purchase orders, specifications, and special requirements for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure contract review requirements are met prior to job release
  • Clarify discrepancies or missing information with customers and internal teams
  • Enter and maintain accurate job data to support traceability and certification
  • Receive and verify incoming customer shipments against orders and documentation
  • Ensure customer-owned material is properly identified, tagged, protected, and routed
  • Document and report discrepancies, damage, or nonconforming customer property
  • Coordinate with production to prioritize incoming work
  • Prepare customer orders for shipment in accordance with customer and quality requirements
  • Verify packaging, labeling, certifications, and shipping documentation
  • Schedule freight and coordinate pickups with carriers and customers
  • Ensure shipments are accurate, complete, and on time
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, and order entry activities comply with ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements
  • Participate in internal, customer, and third-party audits
  • Support corrective actions related to order entry, material handling, or shipping issues
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Lead and train shipping/receiving and order entry personnel
  • Set daily priorities and balance order entry, dock activity, and production needs
  • Work closely with Quality and Production teams
  • Perform hands-on work as required to meet operational demands
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving area
  • Ensure safe handling of customer material and equipment
