About The Position

Shipping/Receiving Clerk Bodycote offers: $1,500 Sign-on Retention Bonus. Paid holidays and time off. 401K match, Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans for employees and families. Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week. 7:00 am – 3:30 pm – Monday to Friday. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical. Our people are the heart of our business. Position Summary: Based in Winchester, KY, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Supervisor to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new software programs related to the function.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at a desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the shipping and receiving area as needed.
  • Assists with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
  • Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
  • Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
  • Bring any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to the supervisor immediately.
  • Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
