About The Position

Echelon is seeking a hands-on Shipping Manager to lead daily outbound operations and ensure orders are shipped accurately, on time, and properly packaged for safe delivery. This is a working leadership role. The Shipping Manager is actively involved in the day-to-day operation while leading the team, owning the outbound schedule, enforcing packaging standards, and maintaining clear communication across departments. The right candidate is organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and committed to getting products out the door the right way, every time.

Requirements

3–7 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or distribution leadership.
Experience overseeing packaging processes and outbound quality control.
Proven supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced environment.
Strong working knowledge of ERP and shipping platforms, including GEODIS, Epicor P21, FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, or similar systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the daily outbound shipping schedule.
Ensure orders are picked, packaged, and shipped accurately and on time.
Oversee packaging standards to ensure materials arrive protected and intact.
Reduce freight claims and shipment damage through disciplined packaging practices.
Work alongside the team as needed to meet daily shipping deadlines.
Communicate proactively with Sales, Procurement, Inventory, and Operations regarding order status and priorities.
Enforce standard shipping procedures and consistent use of systems and tools.
Monitor and report KPIs including on-time shipment, accuracy, damage rates, and freight performance.
Train, coach, and hold team members accountable to performance and quality expectations.
Identify and implement practical process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce errors.
