The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of the Shipping department. Trains, motivates and promotes a team environment. Performs employee reviews, participates in the hiring process and disciplinary actions as needed. The Shipping Manager is a hands-on representative who ensures that products, inventory, parts, or people are distributed from one place to another efficiently and cost-effectively. Data processing activities utilizing the company's business system (Syteline). Produces and maintains customer packaging records, shipment labels and visual capture of custom packaging. Scheduling shipments and preparing shipping documents/labels per DOT/IATA/CUSTOMER requirements to ensure on-time deliveries. Makes all applications for Shippers/Bill of Ladings on U.S. Government contracts for the Byram facility via Government web-based program. Acts as Point of Contact with DCMA Transportation. Reviews CAD drawings and customer specific drawings for required labeling, packaging, and special needs. Reviews, acts and follows up on required packaging with purchasing/shipping department for materials needed and are received in advance and accurate. Maintains strict confidentiality of all information processed. Follows procedures as defined by CAD policies, procedures, and ISO9001: 2008/AS9100C requirements. Ensures shipping department is kept clean and orderly. Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Practices safety at all times. Ability to travel 50/50 between Byram, NJ and Fairfield, NJ. Perform other related duties as assigned.
