Oversee and coordinate daily shipping operations, ensuring the efficient and timely processing of all outbound shipments. Lead the shipping team by assigning workloads, monitoring performance, and maintaining accuracy and productivity standards. Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and training to both new and existing team members on shipping procedures and order fulfillment processes

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 3+ years of previous logistics, distribution, 3PL, shipping, and/or warehouse experience
  • 3+ years experience operating Stand Up, Reach and Sit-Down forklifts
  • Ability to work independently, strong sense of urgency, and follow up and follow through
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage various time sensitive duties
  • Ability to work well with little or no supervision and with a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Intermediate to advanced Excel), knowledge of ERP and TMS systems (SAP a plus)
  • Use required PPE Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses and Safety Vest
  • Lift up to 75 pounds or more with team lifting on a regular basis
  • Frequent and extended standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and reaching for 8+hours

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates to meet productivity, accuracy, and safety goals
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings at the start of each shift to set expectations and align on priorities
  • Communicate scheduling updates clearly and ensure adherence to the shipping schedule for on-time departures
  • Oversee truck loading operations, perform spot checks to verify order accuracy, and ensure correct packaging and labeling of shipments
  • Provide real-time direction and problem-solving support to team members to maintain operational flow while monitoring overtime
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety protocols and company policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment and reporting incidents promptly
  • Maintain continuous communication with internal teams (Production, Shipping Clerk, Planner, Expeditor) and external partners to resolve issues and support seamless operations
  • Collaborate with the Shipping Clerk to ensure all documentation and truck information is accurately completed and posted in SAP
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date shipping records, including Bills of Lading, packing lists, tracking numbers, photos, and other required documentation
  • Recommend and align continuous improvement initiatives with management to enhance operational efficiency
  • Responsible for end-of-shift closeout of the shipping department, including securing doors, storing forklifts, and connecting them to chargers
  • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly workstation. Sweeps work area and removes debris regularly throughout the shift
  • Act as backup for Shipping Clerk as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
