Position Summary The Group Leader is responsible for supporting the department Manager and Supervisors in the total leadership and operation of the DC, including: overall department management, supervision, and policy implementation, employee staffing, training, and development, drive department goals, to include meeting customer needs and all department metrics. Group Leaders are considering a pipeline for future department supervisors and must be capable of learning multiple departments within the DC and growing their skills to lead a team. 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 4pm-12am Pay: $21/hour + $0.75/hour shift premium

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally (courteous and cordial).
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to ensure information is transmitted properly from shift to shift.
  • Must be certified on all equipment needed to complete job task
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Leadership skills, problem solving, decision making, multi tasking, delegate work load, set goals, role model for morale, promote production by example, and ensure completion of the task at hand.
  • Strong WMS knowledge, computer literacy.
  • Must be available immediately and attend all mandatory Training Classes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel, word and Power Point presentations.
  • Proficient in Policies and Procedures across all shifts of the Operation.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner following prescribed work methods.
  • Dependability.
  • Excellent attendance a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Associate degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead others and work effectively with department team.
  • Supervise, assign, and direct activities of the department colleagues.
  • Effectively communicate information to team in an open and timely manner.
  • Support Manager and Supervisors as needed to ensure operation effectiveness.
  • Utilize various reports, summaries, and procedures as necessary to resolve problems that colleagues may encounter in their job function
  • Assign colleagues to work areas within the department to achieve a balanced workload and meet operational metrics.
  • Confer daily with department Manager and Supervisor to determine departmental staffing needs and assignments.
  • Conduct audits as determined by Supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate team members.
  • Maintain attendance and performance records of colleagues.
  • Ensure on-the-job safety of all employees.
