About The Position

SAIC is currently hiring a Shipping Coordinator Warehouse candidate to work with our team in Indianapolis, IN. Job Duties: · Implements shipping program, coordinates physical distribution, order fulfillment, inventory management and control, and contract management activities. · Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping tasks. · May cross-train on parts room and receiving duties; Works out of a central warehouse. · Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. · Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. · Prepare materials for shipment. · May receive incoming materials or (Un) packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. · Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between points of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements. · Develops and administers production plan and schedules as they relate to material and product flow inbound and outbound to ensure customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school degree with five (5) years of experience.
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, basic math, communication (written/verbal).
  • Stamina to stand, lift (e.g., 40-50 lbs), bend, and move heavy items.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced settings, follow directions, and work independently or in a team.
  • Must be able to obtain a secret clearance after first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift/pallet jack operation (certification often a plus).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems, RF scanners, UPS/FedEx/Government software experience
  • MS Office experience
