Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or materials coordination within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience working with inventory management or ERP systems (e.g., printing pick tickets, reviewing system updates, tracking shipments)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including packing slips, manifests, tracking information, and internal templates
  • Familiarity with cycle counting and basic inventory control practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Operations
  • Comfortable assisting internal teams with inventory inquiries, quotes, dimensions, and order status
  • Professional and responsive when communicating with external carriers and vendors
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify accuracy of shipments and records
  • Ability to prioritize daily workloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of structuring shipping activities to support efficiency and on-time delivery
  • Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to assist the production floor and customer service as needed
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shipping environment
  • Experience supporting medical device manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with ISO, GMP, or quality system requirements
  • Experience supporting audits or maintaining accurate shipping and inventory records for compliance purposes

Responsibilities

  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, job travelers, invoices, packing slips, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare documents such as manufacturing templates, tracking info, and shipping orders to route materials.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Confer and correspond with Sales, Customer Service, and establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
  • Assist Customer Service and Sales with inventory questions or concerns, quotes, dimensions.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Provide day to day guidance in Shipping by structuring workloads to maximum productivity and efficiencies. Printing pick tickets from our inventory management system, constantly reviewing updates and prioritizing workloads.
  • Assist the production floor and Customer Service when/as needed.
  • Assist with weekly Cycle Counting
