About The Position

This position will perform the internal transfers/shipping of all released product between our Apple Valley locations as well as to our Lakeville Distribution Center. In addition, the position will receive raw materials, packaging materials and maintenance parts and pieces, delivering them to the correct storage locations. All receiving transactions will be done through High Jump, (Warehouse Management System). This position also controls the access point to the building through the Receiving Department. Transfers all released and non-released product, which includes coiled pipe, reels of pipe, straight lengths, packaging supplies and raw materials to the Distribution Center. This will be done by using Warehouse Management Scan Tools and creating appropriate shipping documents. Physically loads all product with a forklift and or an electric pallet jack to dedicated transfer trailers after all product has been verified for accuracy. Inspects, verifies quantities of all incoming packages and receives all Raw Materials, Packaging Supplies, Equipment, Maintenance Supplies from Vendors and the Distribution Center in Lakeville for both M1 and M2 organizations. Electronically receives everything into Oracle. Delivers all of these to the identified locations. Controls the building Access Point through the Receiving Department. Monitors the property via Cameras. Enforces building security. Coordinates all Recycling Pick-ups by contacting the specific companies when pickups are needed. This includes all PEX Recycling, Pallet Recycling, Metal Recycling, as well as all industrial waste. Communicates with all departments.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent is required.
  • Good math skills are required, including familiarity with the metric system.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Basic mechanical and technical skills are required.
  • Must be able to problem solve, multitask/prioritize and pay attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift.
  • Warehouse/Manufacturing/Forklift experience of 1-3 years is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate computer-controlled equipment according to procedures, major processes include perform die (tool) changes, changeovers, in-process checks and adjustments.
  • As reels fill to capacity, perform necessary reel changes per written procedures.
  • To verify product quality, accurately uses precision measuring devices to monitor pipe dimensions.
  • Accurately and legibly record all required data on production report (hardcopy or electronic)
  • Maintain work area to company 6S standards by keeping all tools and equipment in designated areas; perform operator Preventative Maintenance on equipment
  • Collect and submit Quality samples as required
  • Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in lean initiatives.
