The Ship Management Intern will report to the Fleet Manager and work with the Fleet Management Team to review maintenance procedures and incorporate various preparations and checklists to ensure tracking.
Requirements
- A background in maritime would be an asset
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Able to work with energy, showing initiative, resourcefulness and care for detail, neatness, diligence, in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Reviewing of maintenance procedures, in particular Deck Maintenance
- Tracking various preparations and checklists
- Review Drydock module in FMS enhancement
- Support the team in identifying and leading with contracts for alternate spare parts (OEM and Generic)
- Support with FMS updates in preparing maintenance data sheets using FMS templates
- Prepare various new equipment BWTS /EGCS compliance checks
- Prepare reference check sheets and incorporate in FMS
- Performs other duties as directed by the Fleet Manager
