Strata-G is seeking an experienced Shift Technical Advisor with the following: Summary: The Shift Technical Advisor is responsible for providing the technical expertise to understand the approved safety basis for operations of the facility and to evaluate the impact of proposed changes/modifications on the safe operation of the facility.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.
  • The Shift Technical Advisor is responsible for providing the technical expertise to understand the approved safety basis for operations of the facility and to evaluate the impact of proposed changes/modifications on the safe operation of the facility.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related, and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
  • Q Clearance is required. Must be able to obtain required clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as primary support team member for the Operations Manager and Shift Manager to ensure daily operations are safe, effective, and performed in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Interfacing with support organizations to understand planned operations within the facility and ensure activities are in compliance with facility safety basis authorized work.
  • Performing troubleshooting and improvement activities for emerging issues within the operations management scope of responsibility to resolve issues and improve effectiveness in implementation of compliance requirements.
  • Serving in a project management role as needed for coordination of large, cross-cutting activities within the facility that involve multiple interfaces that cross organizational lines.
  • Presenting technical briefings or presentations, as required, that describe and explain approved facility operations and compliance implementation methods.
  • Evaluating proposed modifications or changes against the approved Documented Safety Analysis via the Unreviewed Safety Question.
  • Determining process to ensure changes are within the scope and methods appropriate for the facility.
  • Provide on-call coverage for assigned weekends based upon a rotation with others in the group; on-call is as needed which may or may not require weekend work for the assigned weekend.
