About The Position

The purpose of the Shift Supervisor position is to supervise and lead a team of Utilities 1 & 3 process operators and ensure the operators are up to date on the company’s policies, training, and process knowledge within the unit. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring the unit operates in a safe manner while complying with environmental protocols, stipulations, and regulations. While still meeting production goals and maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of (5) years' experience in Operations as an Operator. Utilities experience preferred. Board Experience in Utility Operations preferred.
  • Personal computer and applicable software including the ability to learn new systems that the company introduces.
  • Use of hand tools, gauges, indicators, operation of DCS and sample testing equipment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good business writing ability.
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required, with a process chemical operator course preferred.
  • Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
  • Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and Lead: Assign the operators to their areas of responsibility and monitor daily by reviewing the log sheets and checklists. Handle any conflicts, whether operational or personal, that develop. Be clear and precise in communications with operators and obtain feedback to ensure he/she understands the communication.
  • Operations: Assess the Utilities unit operations by reviewing the log sheets, logbook notes, Pl trends, and DCS readings. Manage, solve, and /or recommend resolving discrepancies, deviations, and abnormalities by staying up to date on the operational processes within Utilities. Direct the proper operational steps during nights and weekends if a situation arises.
  • Facilitate the Fulfillment of Work Orders: Gather and collect the daily/weekly/monthly checklists and review for abnormalities. Flag abnormalities and relay them to the Operation Staff personnel (Day Supervisors / Managers) in the unit logbook. Follow up with maintenance work to reduce equipment downtime and ensure repairs are through to reduce subsequent failures and downtime. Attend the Operations meetings with the Maintenance group to go over the daily Maintenance items.
  • Staff Development: Evaluate the new operators from the Process Operator Program. Develop each individual's talent to their full potential, creating an environment that supports collaboration, cross-functional team, and information sharing.
  • THM: Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition.
