About The Position

The Penny Ice Creamery is seeking Shift Leads for our Santa Cruz County shops! The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Raspberry Rose, Whiskey Custard, and Pear Coffee Cake! We also make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Fresh Mint Chip, and Dark Chocolate. As a Shift Leader, you will create an excellent customer experience by scooping ice cream and making special items like ice cream sundaes and milkshakes. You will get barista-trained and make high quality coffee and tea drinks. You will get trained on opening and closing the shop. You will also become an expert in making fresh sugar cones and marshmallow fluff from scratch. In addition to providing exceptional service, you will be a leader and role model for the staff. During your shift, you will be responsible for maintaining the flow of business and the presentation of the shop, and upholding our high standards of service, product quality, and hospitality. We operate four Penny Ice Creamery locations in Santa Cruz County: - Downtown Santa Cruz (913 Cedar Street) - Pleasure Point (820 41st Avenue) - Aptos Village (141 Aptos Village Way, Suite 2) - Scotts Valley (262 Mt. Hermon Road, #104)

Available to work on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Available to work at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
Must be available to work through Summer 2026 (June ~ September).
