About The Position

The Penny Ice Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Santa Cruz that makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients. We make unique flavors like Honey Lavender, Blackberry Sweet Corn, and Whiskey Custard! We also make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Tahitian Vanilla Bean, Fresh Mint Chip, and Dark Chocolate.

As an Ice Cream Scooper, you will be creating a fun and memorable experience for our guests by scooping ice cream, making ice cream sundaes, milkshakes and various novelty items, making craft coffee and tea drinks, and of course, toasting our famous marshmallow fluff.

We operate four Penny Ice Creamery locations in Santa Cruz County:
Downtown Santa Cruz, Pleasure Point, Aptos Village, and Scotts Valley.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work alone/ unsupervised.
• Must have availability during the week, weekends and holidays on a reliable basis.
• Must be available to work 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
• Must be Available to work through Summer 2026 (June ~ September).

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service, although we will train the right person.
