About The Position

Acts as a front-line extension of the Shop Manager's authority in supervising technicians enganed in the repair and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to effectively supervise and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3 years related experience and/or training; or a Bachelor of Applied Science in Diesel Technology; 1 year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license preferred
• EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 and 609 within 90 days of hire date
• Forklift Certified
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Safety shoes (composite or steel toe) required.

Responsibilities

• Directly carries out supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage personnel to include training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ensures that all company and industry regulated policies, procedures and practices are followed.
• Organizes equipment, shop personnel, and work load to meet work requirements.
• Initiates and dispatches repair orders, schedules warranty work and conducts lot checks as needed.
• Assists drivers with repair write ups as needed.
• Ensures regular maintenance and cleanliness of premises and that tasks are completed efficiently, effectively and safely.
• Responsible for the warranty part and core return processed.
• Receives/carries out instructions and maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned
