About The Position

A mechanic who directs the service operation and personnel during periods of the Service Manager’s absence, or during second shift. Must be able to lead and supervise personnel. Spends 70% or more of work time on billable repairs. Repairs and services the mechanical, electrical, and other components of a trailer using hand tools, power tools, welders, and/or any other testing or repair equipment necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Determines necessary mechanical, electrical, or other areas that need repair to meet the customer’s expectations
Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers
Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary
Repairs electronics and runs trailer wires, as necessary
Fixes and repair tires, as necessary
Assists customers on service calls
Correctly completes all forms, timecards, parts requests, or any other documents associated with trailer repairs
Represents Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, remaining friendly and courteous in all customer and coworker interactions.
Wears proper personal protective equipment to protect from injury.
Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.
Performs other duties as assigned
