About The Position

Overview Summary/ Objective The position of a Radiographic Testing (RT) Technician is responsible use radiation imagery to test the different types of materials to determine their levels of durability, quality, and safety. A RT Technician will perform work as required to maximize the quality of the Company while maintaining the specified expectations of the client and ensure safe working environment while performing work and will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This position will maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years related technical experience.
  • 2 years NDT experience in determining material/product acceptability.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading/interpretation and shop mathematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree or certificate in engineering or technology.
  • Petrochemical/refinery experience.
  • First Aid and CPR trained.
  • Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) and determine material acceptability according to the limits of the NDT level obtained.
  • Record, organize and evaluate test results and enter results into applicable documentation.
  • Ensure compliance to all radiation safety rules and regulations and provide protection to self and others during testing.
  • Maintain equipment and assure calibration for tests to be performed.
  • Maintain inventory control of area equipment.
  • Coordinate NDT inspection workload according to priorities, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Adopt a Company attitude in all client, vendor, employee, and outside contact interactions.
  • Actively pursue continuing technical education courses or seminars.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable environmental, health, safety and building codes as required by federal, state, local and refinery regulations.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
  • Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
  • Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
