About The Position
The position of a Radiographic Testing (RT) Assistant will assist performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. A RT Assistant will perform work as required to maximize the quality of the Company while maintaining the specified expectations of the client and ensure safe working environment while performing work and will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This position will maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NDT Level I Certification & Radiation Safety.
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
- Knowledge of NDT equipment.
Nice To Haves
- 2-year degree or certificate in engineering or technology.
- Petrochemical/refinery experience.
- First Aid and CPR trained.
- Class “A” driver’s license and a clean MVR.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the set up and help calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
- Help conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
- Assist in establishing techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators.
- Organize and report test results.
- Perform specialized inspections.
- Adopt a Company attitude in all client, vendor, employee, and outside contact interactions.
- Actively pursue continuing technical education courses or seminars.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable environmental, health, safety and building codes as required by federal, state, local and refinery regulations.
- Maintain poise and focus under time constraint and adverse conditions.
- Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
- Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
