Position Summary The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for fabricating thin metal products for multiple departments. This role primarily uses blueprints to cut, bend, and fasten materials. This role involves working on diverse custom projects – reading drawings, planning work, fabricating components, and delivering flawless results.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in custom metal fabrication or a comparable advanced fabrication role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex, custom projects.
  • Strong math, measurement, and layout skills.
  • Mechanical know-how and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and sketches for complex custom builds.
  • Cut, shape, and bend sheet metal components using fabrication equipment including shears, brakers, rollers, saws, grinders, plasma table according to blueprints or work orders.
  • Take accurate measurements and check or defects to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Follow all safety policies, codes, and industry best practices to protect yourself and others.
  • Fit, assemble, and finish components to tight tolerances.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in clean, organized, and good working condition.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient, high-quality installations.
