About The Position

The STOP Domestic & Sexual Violence Sexual Assault Advocate provides all aspects of STOP DSV Advocate I with proficiency in addition to higher level responsibilities including Sexual Assault Outreach and Engagement. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm with on-call hotline coverage throughout the year What’s in it for you? Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Services field preferred with 2+ years of personal and/or professional experience working in the human services sector providing direct services
  • Valid NYS or other State Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation for travel required

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates Support and/or Curriculum based Sexual Assault groups virtually and/or in person
  • Provides proficient emergency response actions to hotline and/or walk in service requests to assess safety and identify needs including and not limited to: direct emergent support (including transportation, safety planning, safe housing, childcare), advocacy, intakes, and refer to immediate supports identified as domestic and/or sexually violent related barriers
  • Accompaniment to court, law enforcement, and all medical appointments related to incident(s) of violence, including exams by Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners
  • Collaboration among community programs and partners to strengthen professional relationships, community education and engagement, and to identify quality supports needed to combat domestic and sexual violence (Including and not limited to: medical services, law enforcement, legal system providers, attorneys, legal aid, etc)
  • Completion of documentation as prescribed by agency standards including progress notes, assessments, and updating of various forms required
