Settlement Manager

TopDog Law

About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Law Firm Settlements team, efficiently disbursing trust funds to clients, medical providers, and the firm. You will identify best practices for settlement processes and coordinate cross-functionally to implement process improvements. A key part of your role will be to drive, measure, and reward the performance of the settlements team by establishing monthly targets for settlements disbursed and fees collected. You will serve as the point of contact for challenging settlement issues that require escalation, including fielding calls from clients to discuss settlement status. Additionally, you will identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to improve speed, quality, and consistency of legal work. Partnering with IT & Analytics teams, you will design reporting dashboards and status trackers to provide visibility into settlement team performance and project progress. You will operate as a trusted partner to legal leadership, exercising sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters, and will be expected to identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, or outcomes, rather than just following existing playbooks. The Settlement Manager oversees the end-to-end settlement process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal financial outcomes for both clients and the firm. This role serves as a key escalation point for complex cases, leads negotiations with medical providers and third parties, and partners cross-functionally to drive efficient resolution. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of lien and subrogation laws, and a client-first mindset. This role is critical to TopDog Law's success by directly impacting clients, revenue, case outcomes, and team efficiency, supporting speed, quality, and consistency as the firm scales, helping protect and elevate the TopDog Law brand and client experience, and strengthening the foundation needed to grow responsibly and sustainably. TopDog Law is a nationally scaling, fully-integrated, personal injury law firm built for impact, excellence, and growth, owning the client experience end-to-end from marketing and intake through litigation. The firm is building a high-performance, high-trust, no-ego culture where talented people do meaningful work, grow quickly, and take pride in what they build together. TopDog Law has grown 2–3x year over year by combining world-class marketing with exceptional legal talent and operations, and is now applying that same discipline and innovation to law firm operations, case management, and execution as it scales nationally and fully integrates. The firm is intentionally building the infrastructure, systems, and teams needed to scale at a national level without sacrificing quality, culture, or accountability, offering those who join now a real opportunity to help shape how the firm operates for years to come.
