In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Law Firm Settlements team, efficiently disbursing trust funds to clients, medical providers, and the firm. You will identify best practices for settlement processes and coordinate cross-functionally to implement process improvements. A key part of your role will be to drive, measure, and reward the performance of the settlements team by establishing monthly targets for settlements disbursed and fees collected. You will serve as the point of contact for challenging settlement issues that require escalation, including fielding calls from clients to discuss settlement status. Additionally, you will identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to improve speed, quality, and consistency of legal work. Partnering with IT & Analytics teams, you will design reporting dashboards and status trackers to provide visibility into settlement team performance and project progress. You will operate as a trusted partner to legal leadership, exercising sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters, and will be expected to identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, or outcomes, rather than just following existing playbooks. The Settlement Manager oversees the end-to-end settlement process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal financial outcomes for both clients and the firm. This role serves as a key escalation point for complex cases, leads negotiations with medical providers and third parties, and partners cross-functionally to drive efficient resolution. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of lien and subrogation laws, and a client-first mindset.
