Responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of existing tooling and for assisting with mold issues on the production floor. Schedule: Two week, 12-hour rotating shift schedule Shift Hours: 6am-6pm

Requirements

  • Exhibit a sense of ownership in the results of the production team.
  • Required training (training will be provided in all areas, as needed): o Forklift o Lockout/Tagout o Arc Flash o First Aid/CPR o Fire Extinguisher o Hazardous Communication
  • Experience with precision measuring.
  • Above average math skills.
  • Above average mechanical ability.
  • Basic troubleshooting ability.
  • Positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve during troubleshooting situations.
  • Above average attendance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Demonstration of knowledge regarding various tools used as a Setup Technician.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, a plus.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and working on concrete production floor.
  • Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a ladder and/or step stool.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Preventative Maintenance in both Mold Assembly area and on Production floor in a timely manner or as communicated by department manager.
  • Perform Mold repairs, as assigned.
  • Hot runner maintenance and troubleshooting, including wiring.
  • Hot runner controller maintenance and troubleshooting, including wiring.
  • Assist with Mold issues on the Production floor.
  • Support mold qualifications and/or other Engineering projects, as needed.
  • Support the production floor with daily tasks. Included, but not limited to, mold and insert changes, machine start-ups, blocked part recovery and sampling.
  • Repair or install solutions to production safety issues.
  • Set-up parts handling and format kits on production lines.
  • Fabrication and installation of parts handling and automation guarding.
  • Management of parts handling and automation preventative maintenance (PM) program.
  • Answer calls related to parts handling equipment to troubleshoot and repair parts handling and automation.
  • Maintain documentation of mold condition and status.
  • Maintain press schedule for Research and Development.
  • Complete packing slips for items going to vendors or Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Perform precision measuring on inserts and mold bases.
  • Perform insert changes.
  • Maintain organization of Tool area.
  • Assist with machine start-ups.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and electrical issues.
  • Repair parts handling equipment. Change out spin rods, repair waterfall, etc.
  • Troubleshoot IBA’s and automation when issues come up
  • Pull runners.
  • Manage parts handling inventory and request order of parts needed through Purchasing department.
  • Answer machine alarms/lights to assist in troubleshooting or repairing specific production line issues.
  • Assist in starting up and shutting down specific production lines, as needed.
  • Assist Packers, as needed. (ie: box making, picking parts up out of the bin, etc.).
