The Set Up Technician is responsible for the equipment set ups and prepare all the resources to complete production tasks. Establishes production conditions that yield parts near nominal specification with minimal variations. Set Up Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment/tool operational safety, effectiveness, reliability prior to the start of the job. Set Up Technician is responsible for the minimization of equipment/tool downtime to help manufacturing fulfill customer orders in a complete and timely manner. Set Up Technician is to make recommendations to preventive maintenance methods, equipment, maintenance procedures and working conditions. Perform change over tooling, fixturing or settings of production equipment to meet specifications for all jobs in a timely manner. Works to prints, specifications and verbal instructions. Document set ups, product flow – copying routers/trackers for multiple workstations. Performs basic equipment maintenance. Maintain inventory of all production tooling components used in fabricating and producing parts. Maintain safe work areas by identifying and eliminating unsafe work practices and hazards; follows and enforces Alan Baird’s safety guidelines; sets example of safe work practices. Assists in the training of all operators. Informs QC, Production Supervisor, Production Facilitator, and Engineering of any production or product concerns. Directs any personnel issues to Production Supervisor. Monitors in-process paperwork for completeness. Assists Engineering with projects, including overseeing them. Uses standard inspections equipment, micrometers, calipers, rules and gauges. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
