About The Position

We are seeking a ServiceNow Workflow Automation Engineer who will be responsible for the hands‑on configuration, technical build, and automation development within the ServiceNow platform. This role will translate business and technical requirements into forms, workflows, business rules, automations, and integrations that support core county operations. You will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with platform best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience with ServiceNow configuration and implementation
  • Working knowledge of core ITSM modules: Incident, Request, Service Catalog, Knowledge, Change
  • Experience designing and building:
  • Flow Designer workflows
  • Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Notifications
  • Catalog Items & Record Producers
  • Experience with automation (Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Orchestration preferred)
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical configurations
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned modules/features

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, MID Server, OAuth, APIs)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM best practices
  • Experience working with government or enterprise‑scale ServiceNow environments
  • Understanding of update set management, dev‑test‑prod migration, and configuration governance
  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, CIS‑ITSM, CIS‑Workflow, or CIC IntegrationHub)

Responsibilities

  • Configure ServiceNow modules based on defined business and technical requirements
  • Build and maintain forms, workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and automation
  • Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and other county systems (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID Server)
  • Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and contribute to testing cycles (UAT/SIT)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and platform standards
  • Partner with the implementation team to validate technical feasibility, recommend best practices, and support release planning
  • Own assigned modules and configuration areas, ensuring quality, stability, and continuous improvement
