As a ServiceNow Custom Developer you will be the lead to perform configuration, development, support, and maintenance of a customized application within the ServiceNow platform, as well as maintaining the platform itself. You will work with external and internal stakeholders to understand, propose, and deliver custom solutions to fulfill the organization’s mission. You will primarily use JavaScript to develop the custom application on top of the customized ServiceNow Service Portal.

Requirements

  • Years of Experience: 2-3+ years ServiceNow Development experience, 5+ years of software development experience (JavaScript preferred)
  • Deep Understanding of and Experience with JavaScript - Will need to create and maintain extensive Record Producers, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Widgets, etc. within scoped applications.
  • Platform Knowledge: Service Portal, ServiceNow APIs
  • Knowledge of Angular, HTML, and CSS for and Portal and widget maintenance and custom development
  • Demonstrated ability to review implemented customized applications and components, understand what was done (and how), and be able to revise, streamline, refactor, and consolidate efficiently.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform upgrades and cloning
  • Experience building test scripts and execution of such (or ATF if time permits)
  • Clearance: Secret or higher
  • Platform Certification: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD)

Nice To Haves

  • Security+ CE certification
  • Certification: Other CIS/Accreditation, showing certified depth of product knowledge. CIS-Customer Service Management (CSM) preferred, Service Portal Microcertification
  • Experience developing and implementing ServiceNow APIs, or equivalent API experience with other products
  • Experience working Adobe fillable PDF templates and variables

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and team members to build solutions in ServiceNow that support business requirements
  • Leads technical design and documentation to satisfy business requirements
  • Enhance and implement new features within the client’s specialized ServiceNow environment by utilizing platform functionalities as well as JavaScript-based development.
  • Works with Data Imports and Fix Scripts to load and clean data in Production
  • Creates and maintains several custom workflows needed for application capabilities
  • Carries out unit-testing and defect resolution
  • Carries out Release Management processes to accomplish migration of the changes to production
  • Provide platform performance monitoring (ie; slow scripts, transactions, log errors) and platform security monitoring utilizing tools like the Security Center dashboard
  • Implement new and maintain existing scripts that auto-populate (via JSON and/or HTML), generate, attach, and dynamically render fillable PDF documents using ServiceNow APIs like GlideSysAttachment and PDFGenerationAPI
  • Perform platform upgrades, to include validation of custom components during upgrade activities.
