Requirements

  • Ambitious, proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities and minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks such as answering phones, reading paperwork, and filing.
  • Capable of walking through uneven terrain, bending, and standing as needed.
  • Effective communication by phone and in person.
  • Hearing ability sufficient to communicate via radio, phone, and in person.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between customers and the dealership to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Promote and enhance labor and parts sales to boost customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare, monitor, and close job orders accurately.
  • Greet walk-in customers and handle customer calls professionally.
  • Determine and communicate machine warranty status to customers; handle jobs as revenue if warranty information is unavailable.
  • Review daily work schedules with the Service Manager to update priorities, parts deliveries, and deadlines.
  • Work with the Service Manager to ensure repairs are completed within the quoted or estimated labor hours.
  • Ensure written authorization is obtained for jobs before dispatching mechanics; follow up as needed.
  • Process technician time cards and maintain service reports.
  • Assist the Parts Manager with ordering parts, inventory control, and restocking.
  • Provide support at the parts counter and assist the Sales department with paperwork as needed.
  • Ensure service personnel adhere to safety, housekeeping, and company policies with the Service Manager’s assistance.
  • Verify that final invoices match service proposals and meet customer expectations.
  • Assist with the administration of the Service and Parts Departments.
  • Keep the Service Manager informed about key managerial matters.
