About The Position

The Material Handling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all material handling operations across the Vitality Works business, with a focus on the warehouse and production areas. This includes supervising and supporting the Material Handling team, ensuring timely and accurate flow of materials, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The Supervisor plays a key leadership role in developing their team, optimizing workflows, collaborating across departments, and ensuring alignment with production schedules, customer needs and warehouse procedures. This position requires a proactive, solutions-oriented leader who leads by example and fosters a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or logistics – related certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse or materials handling experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Proficient in inventory systems.
  • ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, GMP, and FDA – regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high – performing teams.
  • Highly detail – oriented with strong planning and time – management skills.
  • Forklift and PIT operation certification (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Ability to assess workloads and adjust team schedules and priorities as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a noisy, high traffic, and sometimes disruptive warehouse setting.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and able to move up to 500 lb. drum dolly on a regular basis
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • This position requires strenuous physical activity throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily material handling operations, ensuring timely delivery and return of materials to/from productions areas.
  • Manage and mentor Material Handling Tech I, II and III team members, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Coordinate staging, issuing, and de-issuing of materials both physically and electronically to support production efficiency.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate execution of inventory control processes including cycle counts and warehouse bin audits.
  • Collaborate with production, Quality, and warehouse teams to proactively resolve material flow issues and production support needs.
  • Maintain warehouse and production staging areas in a clean, organized, and safety – first culture among the team.
  • Ensure adherence to all warehouse safety practices and promote a safety – first culture among the team.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve accuracy, productivity, and team performance.
  • Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, drum dollies) is operated safely and appropriately by certified staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits, traceability, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Serves as a liaison between Material Handling and cross – functional departments to support smooth operational execution.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, work ethic and accountability.
