About The Position

About Arctic Compressor: Arctic Compressor is a rapidly growing, family-owned manufacturing business located in Superior, Wisconsin that distributes its high pressure breathing air compressors and containment fill stations exclusively through a nationwide dealer network. Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues with the products produced by Arctic Compressor, including high pressure breathing air compressors, containment fill stations, and related equipment, in a timely and organized manner primarily over the phone and via email. They are also responsible for supporting and conducting technical training sessions both in-person and virtually as required. The ideal candidate will be able to perform these duties in accordance with customer requirements, issue prioritization, and must be able to multitask efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in a similar role is preferred.
  • Customer service experience and experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or pneumatic systems is also preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of work experience, training and/or education may be considered.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Automotive, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, organization, time management, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Proficient with computers and technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with manufacturing and mechanical equipment similar to air compressors is a plus but not required.
  • ERP/MRP software, technical manual documentation software, and MS Office or similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Handle phone calls and email requests from dealers and customers to understand their needs and build strong working relationships.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with Arctic Compressor products.
  • Understand and utilize technical manuals, engineering drawings, and other documentation.
  • Clearly and accurately document service inquiries electronically in the service database.
  • Provide accurate Arctic Compressor part numbers upon request from dealers and customers.
  • Enter dealer parts orders into the ERP system and ensure they are shipped on time.
  • Understand and abide by Arctic Compressor’s warranty policies and procedures.
  • Provide hands-on support in the field and at the factory for complex repairs and rebuilds.
  • Support and conduct technical training sessions both in-person and virtually.
  • Cross-train on the duties and responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician to serve as a backup when additional capacity is required.
  • Document relevant customer feedback, data, and facts to be shared with the Engineering and Sales departments.
  • Support internal team members and other departments as needed.
