About The Position

Carolina International Trucks and Idealease is looking for an experienced Service Technician for our Columbia, SC location.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of proven diesel engine maintenance experience
• Possess own tools to perform work on all diesel equipment
• Knowledge of A/C, brake and emission systems, air systems and diagnostics / trouble shooting of diesel engines.
• Basic computer skills with ability to use diagnostic programs such as EZ-Tech, Cummins Quick Serve, Diamond Logic, etc.
• Willingness to maintain required on-line training throughout employment.
• Customer service oriented.

Nice To Haves

• CDL preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Road tests vehicle when required.
• Participates in manufacturer sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Report to the service manager for daily assignments.
• Must be familiar with diagnostic equipment and be able to document functions in system.
• Perform preventative maintenance work as requested.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
