About The Position

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to internal and external service technicians. This role ensures technicians are proficient in equipment operation, diagnostics, repair, and safety standards, with a focus on Nilfisk equipment. The trainer will Assist developing and will deliver training programs that support technical excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a technical trainer, field service technician, or similar technical role.
  • Knowledge of Nilfisk machine operation
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, practical manner.
  • Excellent organizational and schedule-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently and in team environments.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and training tools.
  • Expectation of self-starter/ownership/leadership to continuously improve the program, including proposals to service leadership, field audits.
  • Technical degree, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with both direct service teams and dealer networks is preferred.
  • Experience with Hydraulics and Internal combustion engines a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Train Nilfisk direct technicians and dealer technicians on equipment operation, service procedures, and best practices.
  • Deliver and maintain technical training programs (classroom, hands-on, and virtual as needed).
  • Build and manage training schedules to meet business and customer needs.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to audiences with varying skill levels.
  • Instruct and support trainees in: Nilfisk machine operation Electrical troubleshooting Circuit theory Mechanical repair and replacement of hard parts Set up, Testing, and Calibration of equipment.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback - target 90% effectiveness of content material.
  • Maintain training materials, manuals, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and product teams to ensure training reflects current products and updates.
  • Promote safe work practices and adherence to company and industry standards.
  • Main training location is Nilfisk training center >75%. Travel required up to 25%.
